Lesson Plan
Warm-up (10 minutes)
- Warm-up Drills
- Volleys at the net (two players on each side; players rally with partner in front; switch after about 2 minutes to rally with the partner cross-court)
- Volley versus Baseline: 2 players at the net, 2 at the baseline (opposite side); coach feeds the ball to baseline players. They all rally and try to keep the ball going over the net 10 times after which they can play the point out. Once they do that, move one spot clockwise. Repeat.
Games / Drills (20 minutes) - doubles tactics; attack / defend and court positioning;
- Lob over the Net Player
- One-up/One-back
- Lob Chasers
Water Break (2 minutes)
Games (25 minutes) - competitive play; net play;
- Stroke Handicap - Hit me! (adapted to 4 players)
- 3 For 3
- Win at the Net
